I have a Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University Chicago (1996) where I concentrated in counseling for children, adolescents and families. For the past 20 years I have been working in children’s mental health agencies, hospitals (pediatric and maternity units) and private practice. My experience includes extensive training in play therapy and my credential as a Registered Play Therapist–Supervisor, a certified TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention) practitioner and hold a certificate in maternal mental health. I also trained in infant mental health working with mothers and their infant or toddler. Attachment has been a big focus of my practice and I use many attachment based play interventions with children and their parents.

My theoretical orientation is focused in family systems and attachment theory. Understanding the relationships between parents and their children. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and an integrated supportive approach. I provide a tailor made treatment plan for each client so your unique situation can be addressed in an effective way. I have been an adjunct faculty in graduate social work and the President of the Orange County chapter of the Association of Play Therapy. I am currently the volunteer director for A Home Within Orange County chapter, (ahomewithin.org) focusing on matching foster children with private practice therapists for pro-bono therapy.

My professional memberships include Association For Play Therapy, Postpartum Support International and California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.

I am a mother of two children and daily experience the “real life” of parenting. Support in parenting often goes a long way to feeling better and more confident as a parent. You can also find me teaching mommy and mini me classes at MOHM, A Center for Moms and Families (mymohm.com).
